This is my story. That I will like to take you through some of my world through the last few years. It all started when I was 43 years years old.  We all think are lifes will just go on being the same each day we know some changes will come. We are never ready when it come to our health. I know I was not.  I have health problems  I have polycystic kidney disease that leads to my story.

One weekend in October of 1998 my blood pressure was so high my head was hurting so bad so I thought it was from my blood pressure.It was 180/110 I seen my nephrologist the day before and he put me on another blood pressure med people with pkd can have high blood pressure they have to watch it. Well ok I think I am so tough I go to work oh the pain in my head I am going to make it the whole day it was October 17th I had to work the whole day it was the 10th  year to the day and I had to finish that day to get my 4 weeks vacation. Or I would have to work awhile longer for it. Boy I did not know I would not be having a vacation for awhile. Well tough me I made it to monday until no more everyone at work could not belive I was leaving I never left early.  I called my Doctor from work.  I left a message. I shouldn't of drove myself home.  My husband Billy was home with the flu. My nephrologist called the house and told Billy as soon as she gets in tell her to get to the Er  .

THE ER WAIT

When we got to the Er my mom was worried, all I wanted to do is get rid of  was my headache.  My kidney doctor  Dr. Whelan had already called the ER and told them I would be coming so I did not wait to go in. My vitals were taking.  My B/p still high. I was settle in the bed taking for an Mri right away, ok and than giving pain pill for the headache ,and now the wait ticK tick tick the hands on the clock moved. People coming and going.  One point the ER got so full I thought, why in the heck don't you come and talk to me and let me go home, nurses came in and out the doctor never came in. I was getting mad. I started thinking something ain't right. My sister came up and Nicole came after her class, Nathan was coming after work and Billy was sick but he was going to have Nathan bring him up when he came home because he did not think he should drive. I went at the Er about 12 and it was getting close to 5. right before Nathan and Billy came up. I heard a call that Dr. Whelan was in the hospital. and I knew he did not practice out of that hospital anymore so my mind starting thinking.  Than later on the ER doc said we are just waiting for your doctor to come down here. He came in and put his hand on my foot and said you know when the big guy himself comes down in the Er it is not good news. Everyone was talking Billy was holding my hand rubbing it. Dr. Whelan holding my feet rubbing them. faces of family even nurses just flashing by me . It was like I was the only one there not in panic at the moment which of course was not showing at the time.
